Knowledge Center
This section is the knowledge centre for designing and implementing net-zero energy buildings.
NZEBs depend on early identification of goals coupled with informed decision making in selection of design strategies and technologies to be used. Prudent combination of low energy building design strategies and technologies are the key to attaining a neutral energy balance.
To do so, decision makers need to be aware of fundamental building design principles to be adopted and the technology at their disposal. Simultaneously, understanding of effective correlation of various design and technology elements to harness the fullest potential of both is necessary.
The section contains guidelines on passive and active building design strategies, energy efficient building technologies, and renewable energy systems relevant for making a building energy neutral. Links to tools to calculate energy savings, payback periods of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy systems are also included to help users select NZEB measures.
