Wood Mackenzie reports that the world is approaching towards 2.8°C – 3°C global rise in temperature

The global warming limit target of 2°C as agreed upon mutually at the Paris Climate summit is likely to overshoot despite massive investments in renewable energy and low-carbon infrastructure. This questions the credibility of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Read more

“SiteRight” – a tool to help select locations for RE plants in India

The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Vasudha Foundation (VF), Center for Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP), and Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) have collaborated to create a tool—SiteRight—to support decision makers to select locations for solar and wind projects that can help meet India’s renewable energy goals while avoiding adverse impacts to environment and people. SiteRight was launched at the New York Climate Week 2020.

SiteRight supports new renewable energy projects in places with viable resource potential but away from land areas rich in biodiversity and on which local communities depend. Read more
