Featured Project

Avasara Academy
Avasara Academy is a residential school campus located in Lavale (near Pune), Maharashtra that exemplifies how contemporary architecture can incorporate climate-responsive design principles and vernacular approach to achieve net-zero energy.  The project reduced its annual energy cost by 80% using a completely passive design. In the daytime, pre-cooled air from the earth ducts is supplied to the spaces and flushed out through solar chimneys. Rooftop solar PV and solar hot water systems meet the residual energy demand. Haryana, Kerala and Telangana are 'Achievers' under State EE Index 2019
The AEEE State Energy Efficiency Index 2019 evaluates energy efficiency initiatives across all states using 97 indicators covering buildings, industries, DISCOMs and more. Haryana, Kerala, Telangana and Karnataka led the 'Buildings' rankings with progressive strategies like incentives for green buildings, subsidized energy audits and streamlining ECBC compliance. The report findings underscore the urgent need for all states to strengthen their institutional capacity and benchmark as well as record the energy intensity across buildings.
Unisphere- one of world's largest commercial NZEBs
The 35,000 sft. commercial building, located in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA surmounts the challenges of achieving NZE starting with a mindset shift towards deciding to build only that much which can be supported by on-site renewable. This shift drove every single decision thereafter to achieve a cutting edge NZEB. Read more
Microsoft targets net-zero energy goal by 2030
The carbon-neutral company is aiming to take the next step towards achieving carbon negative by 2030 and remove all its historical carbon emissions by 2050. Microsoft has launched an aggressive program to cut carbon emissions by more than half by 2030, from its entire supply and value chain, pledging $1 bn towards carbon reduction and removal technology. Supercooling radiative materials may eliminate need for cooling energy
Manufacturers like SkyCool Systems and InventWood are developing materials that reflect sunlight while radiating heat into deep space, and as a result, stay cool even in the day. These materials, which include paints, plastics and wood, are being researched for creating zero-energy cooling systems. Read more
