The NZEB tours kick off with visit to IGBC NZE Godrej Plant 13
EDS organized the first NZEB tour to the IGBC NZE Godrej Plant 13 in Mumbai on 9th August '19. The tour enabled participants to recognize active and passive features in a NZEB, including daylighting, HVAC components, building management system and solar PV management portal. Learn more
NZEB tour to a living laboratory- CARBSE at CEPT University
The tour of the NZEB Centre for Advanced Research in Building Science (CARBSE) at CEPT university in Ahmedabad gave participants a first hand experience of how high performance design can help towards building net zero. The tour was conducted on 24th August '19. Learn more
Upcoming Tours
Know your state's energy-efficiency targets
30 states and UTs have implemented net metering and 9 have adopted ECBC norms. Look up the latest renewable targets and ECBC enforcement status across the country on the NZEB portal's interactive map feature.
Learn about the technical terms used in Daylighting
Take this free one-hour course for learning about daylighting fundamentals in a simple, clear and interesting manner. Examples given in the course correlate with the real world. So the next time you come across terminologies related to daylight, you shall be able to technically describe daylighting.

Featured project

Puma retail store in Bangalore
Puma's flagship store in Bangalore uses daylighting, stack effect for ventilation and a cleverly designed Earth Air Tunnel cooling system to reduce its energy demand. Photovoltaics integrated into the building canopy help meet the building's annual demand. Learn more

Global updates

Team Zero report 59% increase in NZEBs in North America over 2017-19
The study found that 22,146 units are  in design, construction or in operation in the US and Canada. In addition, another 31,000 are in the planning stages owing to an increase in the number of single and multifamily projects that are working to achieve zero energy or zero energy-ready performance. Architecture 2030 introduces framework for net-zero energy cities
The framework- 'Achieving Zero' lays down pathways for cities and regional governments to achieve 50% net zero energy buildings by 2030 and 100% by 2050. It identifies different strategies for new and existing buildings as well as small and big buildings. Learn more
Rocky Mountain Institute publishes best practices for leased net-zero energy buildings.
Leased buildings have many opportunities as well as challenges in achieving and operating as net-zero energy. Rocky Mountain Institute has published a guide that lays down business strategies for NZE leased buildings with the help of case studies. Learn more
Amazon advances towards 50% clean energy shipments by 2030 goal
Amazon added a solar farm and wind farm to its growing number of renewable energy investments, numbering 66 at present. According to the company, its solar projects in the US have offset the CO2 equivalent of more than 200 million miles of truck deliveries. Learn more
About USAID MAITREE program
USAID-led Market Integration and Transformation for Energy Efficiency program (MAITREE) is a four-year bilateral program with the Ministry of Power. MAITREE supports efforts for moving towards a super-efficient and Net Zero Energy target for new buildings. EDS is the implementing partner of this program.
