Live Webinar on 12th August: 'Passive House Standard for NZEBs in Warmer Climates'
Passive house buildings are designed to require upto 80% lower cooling energy than conventional buildings, that can be then easily met by regionally available renewables. Thus, they provide an ideal blueprint to achieve net-zero across all climates. In this webinar, the team from the Passive House Institute explain how these strategies are applicable in warmer climates.

Case Study

Humanscapes, Auroville
Humanscapes is a net-positive housing complex located in Auroville, designed as a prototype for sustainable development that can withstand climate change impacts. The design and planning intends to create a benchmark in energy, waste and water use with solar passive buildings using low embodied building materials. Poured earth walls with strips of waste Cuddapah stone and natural stone flooring are used as major building materials. Exposed brick-vault roofing system is implemented in this project. Further, the construction was carried out using local workmanship. The project meets its energy requirement through various off-grid renewable sources. It also features water collection and recycling systems and has provision for on-site food production. Read more
